At the beginning of the season Moroti would not have been considered for this award.  She had a very shaky start to the season, but her commitment to improve her netball skills alongside very hard work has been very impressive.

She now has self-belief that she can form good solid working partnerships on court in defensive units, which together with her County Academy training have made her an integral part of the U14’s county league squad.

FEBRUARY

Eloise Holland

Eloise is awarded February’s Jack Petchey award for continuing to try to be the best player she can be.  She is totally committed to the club and a real team player.  She never questions decisions, motivates all her fellow team mates and never takes offence.  She listens to the coaches’ instructions and always endeavours to do her best for the sake of the team…

And always has a smile on her face too.

MARCH

Ellie Jeffries

Ellie is quite a new member to Telstars, having changed from another club, and is awarded this prize for her williingness to work harder in our much tougher training regime.  She has been very committed to her netball and with her determination and endeavour during this season to work hard and be the best player she can be, she has not only gained a place in the Telstars U16 squad, to play in both the Regional and county leagues, leading now to a place at the U16 National Finals but has a place in the Kent County squad too.

APRIL

Vicky May

Vicky is awarded the April Jack Petchey award partly as a thank you for her continuous commitment and effort to support Telstars both as a junior player and now as a senior player and also as a bon voyage momenta that she can take with her to far away shores to share her netball skills with netball clubs in Vietnam. The younger members look up to her as an example of how to behave on and off court.  She is so welcoming to them when they are honoured to “play up” and encourages them and guides them when playing both kindly and constructively and always with that beautiful smile.

MAY

Nathalie's attitude to her game of netball has changed greatly recently.  She works incredibly hard and focuses and works well for her team, always trying to be the best player she can be.

A great team player who is improving her game all the time.

JUNE

Izzy Cooper

Izzy is always full of energy and a menace to other teams on the court.  She never stops trying and always strives to get every ball. This year she has been promoted to be a Regional player and works hard in every training session. She’s a team player on and off the court, her efforts with fund raising for the upcoming Jamaica tour have been outstanding, she’s a credit to the club.

SEPTEMBER

Fran Beech

Fran Beech is quite a new member at Telstars and the award was given in admiration of Frans' transition to a much higher level of netball than she previously played.  She has been totally committed to the philosophy of the club and her hard work, training ethic and her amenable demeaner and receptiveness to advice and guidance from her peers have made her an integral part of the club already.  Her desire to do the best for the club and her team is admirable.

OCTOBER

Sam Astbury

Sam Astbury is one of telstars most caring members, always finding time for others (especially those less fortunate than herself).   She has persevered in reaching her ambitions and her committment to training and on court is second to none.  She is one of our most valuable assets and is an ideal volunteer
