Kent County Junior League

27th April saw all of our Junior Squads, U14, U16 and U19 crowned unbeated County Champions after a consistently high level of netball has been played all season.

Superb effort, well done to all players and thanks to our umpires, Val, Michelle R and Kassie.

Further thanks to Lyndsay and Kassie who have come on board this year as assistant coaches and been an invaluable help for Michelle at County League.

This May has seen the culmination of the entire season reach a crescendo, for all age groups

Premier League

3rd/4th May - After an incredibly hard fought season, Telstars found themselves in the Premier play off position to stay in Division 2. A weekend in Loughborough on the 3rd/4th May saw us fight off fierce opposition form Linden and Ryland to secure our position in Division 2 again for next season. Well done to all of the squad, they really played to the best of their abilities and thoroughly deserved the wins in true Telstars fighting fashion.

Particular appreciation should be shown to Michelle for coaching and leading them through nerve wracking event.

U14 National Finals

10th/11th May at Sheffield saw our U14s treading new ground by competing in the National Finals. This was a new experience, where stamina over 2 days of playing becomes important and the girls did not disappoint. The final result saw them clinch 11th spot.

Well done to the entire squad and parents/supporters who came along and shared the roller coaster ride.

A good weekend with beautiful accomodation.

U16 National Finals

24th/25th May at Redbridge was the turn of the U16s. The squad of players who went to this event had set themselves up with a huge amount of hard work in preparation and were really hoping to do well. A promising start saw them comfortably win the first two games and the unfortunately at the end of the 2nd game, they were hit with an injury to their captain. For Charlotte Brazier, this was the end of her tournament and as to be expected, it took time for the squad to regroup and find their winning ways.

In true Telstars fashion, the Sunday showed the depth of strength in the squad and as a team they picked up where they had begun on the first day. Two great wins on the Sunday morning saw them into playoff position for 13th/14th position. What a nail biter this game turned out to be. Goal for goal all the way through, in the last minute turnover was won by Telstars defence, ball securely passed through the court to arrive at the very nervous fingers of Ellie Jeffries with 20 seconds to go. She calmly shot the ball through the ring to clinch the win for Telstars.

This was truely a squad effort and as such must be applauded by all.

Particular thanks must also go to all of the supporters who took the time to come across to watch.

County Senior League Play-off

1st June - Its been a very mixed season with much chopping and changing of the squad this year. As a result it wasn't unexpected to find ourselves in the playoff positions to maintain our division 1 status. A very young and potentially promising team took on much more experienced players and were within 2 goals of winning. This bodes well for their next season in division 2.
